Kors stays on top

Hi!

Happy New Year to everyone!! To kick of the amazing (or what I hope to be amazing) year, I decided to recommend my "it" bag for the first few weeks of January 2011;) Believe me, I will be suggesting an insane amount of fab bags throughout the coming months. As I like to say, there's never a better way to get noticed than with an exquisite handbag. (Or man bag for the guys).

Currently, your arm cannot be deprived...you must grab the gorgeous Michael Kors Skorpis Shoulder Bag ($995). The effortlessly chic bag is the perfect way to add sophistication to your wardrobe. Plus, the neutral black color means you can wear it with absolutely anything in your closet. Perfection. Thanks again, Michael.

Ladies, make this purchase your new year's resolution. The end.

Bleu de Chanel = Feu de Chanel

Hi!

Hope everyone had a fashion-filled holiday! While I always love receiving beautiful gifts, I was specifically thrilled seeing the little Chanel bag under the tree with Bleu de Chanel inside. This scent is definitely on fire, and my must-have of the season. It definitely makes me smell like a "woody-aromatic" man. Beyond love it. (Although I still will be rocking my Fougere Royale from time to time). It's just nice graduating from my Aqua Di Gio, which I've passed along to my brother. Men. Go buy this scent now. Women. Go buy this for your man. The end.

Stay tuned for more of my favorite holiday moments:) xx

It's FURR-ZZINGGG

Hi!

How is everyone? Okay, it's obviously no secret that I am obsessed with fur! (I'm totally okay with faux fur so I don't need anyone coming at me with a bucket of red paint). This winter season, I better see each and every one of you with a fur accent. I know I will be rocking my fur hat when it becomes fur-zing in Manhattan.

Fortunately, if you do not own a fur or fur-accented item, Santa is coming soon. Make sure to add these items to your list (even if you've been naughty):

1. Mossimo's Fur Neckwrap (For the girl on a budget). $24.99.

2. French Connection's Faux Fur Vest. $368.00.

3. Chanel's Small Tote (DIE for all of Chanel's fur bags). Price Upon Request.

Message me for amazing fur options. (Just watch out for anyone in a bright orange jacket:) xx

Michael Kors - Please stop tempting me

Hi!

SO SORRY I haven't updated in a little while....Life has been insane!! Where has the time gone? How is it already the middle of November? Actually, I'm thrilled because that means the Christmas season is rapidly approaching. Thank god. Everyone knows there is nothing I like more than a fashionable Christmas, complete with...you guessed it...Michael Kors.

I mentioned my adoration for Michael Kors' advertisments once before during the fall campaign, but I think I'm even more obsessed with the winter campaign. I mean...are you joking with it? Turtlenecks. Check. Dog. Check. Snow. Check. Hot people. Check. It is pure magic, and I cannot wait to recreate these ads (probably by myself) in the coming weeks.

If you are ever looking for me, please search Central Park for the loser in a turtleneck with this ad in his hands -- asking to borrow someone's dog for a photo. EEEKSSS. Pathetic or Amazing? You decide. But at least it will make me cheery and bright! (For once:)

Stay tuned for my favorite winter picks!

I See Spots

Hi!

As I opened the Sunday Styles section today, I was pleased to find an entire page dedicated to stylish men and women (Yes, men too) wearing leopard-inspired pieces. While many know that leopard is one of the biggest fall trends this season, I simply want to reiterate that everyone must run to the nearest store and buy a leopard accessory...NOW.

Let's be honest, everyone form Kim Kardashian to Kate Hudson recently has animal fever -- and you need to as well.

Just make sure you don't wear an entire leopard ensemble. It's not quite Halloween yet. Try a leopard accent on a great pair of heels (women) or driving shoes (men). The pictured Giuseppe Zanotti pump ($650) would be an exquisite way to spice up a black o/Users/Bobby/Desktop/1053076_fpx.tif.jpegutfit. A leopard print bag, scarf, or headband also would be an excellent choice.

RAWARRRRRRRRR!!!!

Live Vicariously Through Michael Kors

Hi!

I love Michael Kors. I love fall. I love scarves. I love jackets. Given these glorious short sentences, please let me know if the following sentence makes me insane:

I have pictures of Michael Kors' Fall 2010 ad campaign saved in my phone to use as my fall inspiration.

Am I too much??

I honestly am obsessed with this campaign. I don't know if it's the good looking people, the fur, the jackets, the scarves, the color, the leaves, the lattes, etc....but I LOVE -- and am living vicariously through the campaign this fall. Yes, I do plan on having my roommates (You guys better be reading this) take photos of me in Central Park as I frolick through the leaves. No Joke. Stay tuned. The end.

- B.

P.S. I better see all of you taking hints from this campaign as well;)

D.I.E. for Peter Soronen

Hi!

I had the privilege of working at a fabulous shopping event recently, which featured some of the most brilliant designers in the world. One of my absolute favorite featured designers was Peter Soronen. GENIUS!

Many of you may remember Michelle Obama's State Dinner Dress (Soronen of course)-- The beautiful, shimmery gown was in my hands this week! It literally made me die. It was so fricken beautiful, one of my coworkers actually put it on. Check out the photo-major.

I NEED the Reade Medium Tote as if my life depended on it. It is definitely a statement bag with its unexpected brown and black combination -- The perfect bag for work or play.

B Brian Atwood = B Bananas

Hi!

Get ready ladies, shoe designer to the stars, Brian Atwood, announced that he will be doing a more affordable line of shoes that will hit stores next fall.

Atwood followed many designers such as Zac Posen and Jil Sander by creating affordable lines for the masses. So exciting!! There is nothing better than stepping out in a fantastic pair of Atwoods -- The heads will definitely start turing as you strut down the street:)

This only inspires the Robert James line (and James by Robert James) even more:) Muwhahahhwhwah.

Emmy's Best and Worst Dressed List

Hi!

While I of course loved the opening Glee-inspired intro, as well as Modern Family's win, the best part about the Emmy's always will be the fashion. While there were many hits this year, there also were many misses that actually made me wish I had a blindfold (seriously).

Here is my list of the best and worst starlets:

Best Dressed

Lea Michelle. While navy was the color of the evening, the Glee songstress looked stunning in her floor-length Oscar de la Renta gown. While she didn't win an award, she definitely was a winner in my book. (She also made me even more excited for the next season of Glee!) P.S. Tina Fey also rocked it in her Oscar de la Renta gown.

Kim Kardashian. Kim is always naturally gorgeous, but the exotic beauty looked even more stunning than usual in her white Marchesa gown. I couldn't stop staring at the Grecian Goddess.

Claire Danes. I always die for sparkles, so Claire Danes' Armani Prive gown had to make my list. So simple, yet so over-the-top = pure genius.

Sofia Vergara. Sofia could basically wear anything and be drop-dead beautiful, but her Carolina Herrera gown made her truly look like the television star that she is. I also am obsessed with how she rolled the "r's" in the designer's name.

Jane Lynch. This Glee star (and winner!) looked so gorgeous and classic in her Ali Rahimi gown. I died.

Kyra Sedgwick. Sorry, I had to add one more- Way to go Kevin Bacon, your wife looked beyond elegant and chic in her Monique Lhuiller gown. Amazing.

Worst Dressed

Mindy Kaling. AHHHHHHH! What the hell is that, Mindy?! This The Office star needs to leave the 80s behind.

January Jones. While I appreciate the Mad Men star's bold fashion choice. I could not get passed the Madonna-inspired cone-shapped boobs. Her messy, "natural" looking hair also did not match the drama of the Atelier Versace gown.

Jewel. While the singer's performance was very moving, I wish she would've moved off the red carpet in her southern, lace, prom, 80's dress, thing. No thanks. Plus...the bow was crooked!!

Anna Paquin. While I adore and respect McQueen, Anna's gown just did not work for me. It didn't fit her right, and made her look too much like a warrior (and less like a vampire).

Lauren Graham. Lauren's black and white Yigal Azrouel gown literally looked like a bunch of rags thrown on a body. No thanks.

I hope everyone enjoyed the Emmy's as much as I did...I can't wait to commentary on the next award's show. Stay tuned!:)

"Zoe M G!"

Hi!

As many of you know, I'm obsessed with "The Rachel Zoe Project," and desperately love tuning in every Tuesday night to see what shenanigans are happening behind-the-scenes of the Zoe camp. While many may consider this show a guilty pleasure, I consider it a necessity in life.

There is absolutely nothing better than witnessing what new phrase will come out of Zoe's mouth, which fur will be wrapped around her body, and/or what meltdown will occur during fashion week...pure genius. Her husband, Rodg., and style director, Brad also are amazing with their one-liners and over-the-top personalities.

Believe me, I am thrilled that I have the first two seasons on DVD (No--I'm not ashamed), and can't wait until next Tuesday's episode. From now on, I will most definitely be recapping my favorite episode moments every Wednesday...So stay tuned:) It will be bananas.

"And I am Telling You"...Jennifer Hudson is not going

Hi everyone!

Jennifer Hudson truly is not going anywhere...thank god. I had the privelage of reading InStyle Makeover today, which featured the lovely J-Hud. The amazing nine page spread offered a truly inspiring look at J-Hud's new body, and new outlook on life. This is a definite must-read! (Pay special attention to the photo on page 82. I literally died upon seeing it:)

Michael Kors..."My New BFF" (Sorry, Paris Hilton)

Hi everyone!
I just finished reading the absolute best article about Michael Kors on NYMag.com. (http://nymag.com/fashion/10/fall/67504/index3.html). You must read it. NOW!

I've always had a deep respect for Kors' collections, but this article literally made me want to call Kors and immediately go to dinner with him (or a Broadway show because he apparently loves theatre...perfect:).

I also gained a new respect for Kors with his references to the Olsen twins, Manhattan, and his reaction to Ralph Lauren -- the article literally got better with every line. A definite must read.

Thank you, New York Magazine...for making Michael Kors my latest obsession.

I want Louis Vuitton...NOW. And so do you!

Hi!

As I was strolling down Fifth Avenue today (trying to dodge tourists), I had the sudden urge to fly to Paris (of course). So naturally I had to pop into one of my all-time favorites...Louis Vuitton. (I actually received my first Vuitton item for my 18th birthday from lovely friends from high school -- I hope they are reading this post).

Anyway, as I was browsing through floors of monogram bags, I decided that everyone (both men and women) need the below tote bags for fall. Both bags are so classic, and will last forever. So make sure to save those pennies so you can have your first (or tenth) Vuitton experience. (And yes, it really is like the Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Hudson moment in the Sex and the City movie).

Women.

You need the Neverfull GM bag as if your life depended on it. This bag will literally fit your entire life, and is great for work or a weekend at the park. $750.00.

Men.

Get Persian ready with the Tadao tote. This bag says sophisticated and chic, without being over the top. I die for this bag! $1,420.00.

Even if you can't afford these bags right now (like me), please dream with me.

Must Read: Last Night at Chateau Marmont

Hi everyone!

I recently had the luxury of attending the reading and signing of Lauren Weisberger's new book, Last Night at Chateau Marmont. Let me say, the author of The Devil Wears Prada has created another juicy must-read. While I've only just started the novel, I can't wait to keep reading. It's the perfect guilty pressure to end the summer. Any fashion kid worth their soul needs to pick up a copy...NOW!

P.S. Lauren Weisberger is sooo sweet! Definitely worth the trip to Barnes & Noble!

Swarming myself with September issues. Amazing:)

Furs, Leopards, and Camels, OH MY!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry it's been so long! This life in New York has been a fashionable whirlwind! But I'm back, and ready to offer style advice for my favorite upcoming season...FALL! Let's be real, there is absolutely nothing better than an amazing fall coat as your are walking through a gorgeous pile of colored leaves in Central Park. (OK...maybe that's too good to be true, but it could happen, right?)

No matter where you are in the world, incorporate my three absolute favorite fall trends (below) as the leaves begin falling as you strut down the street.

1. Fur. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I love fur! There is nothing better than seeing that little fur accent on a coat, boots, vest...well anything. Chanel had faux fur all over the runway, so now it's your turn to incorporate fur into your wardrobe as well. Try this great scarf from Target with just the right amount of fur detailing. $5.94. http://www.target.com/dp/B002B4G96C/ref=sc_qi_img_viewdetails?ie=UTF8&title=view%20full%20details

2. Leopard. It really must be animal season (thank god!). Leopard print detailing was seen all over the fall runway. This fantastic animal print is the easiest way to have that cool, luxurious feel as you step out into fall. Try a leopard print shoe, jacket, belt, bag, etc. Just don't have an entire leopard outfit. (Unless you belong in a zoo). Try this lovely leopard print clutch from Ann Taylor for the perfect hint of leopard. $138. http://www.anntaylor.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=26499&N=1200016&pCategoryId=3941&categoryId=211&Ns=CATEGORY_SEQ_211&loc=TN&defaultColor=Pale%20Camel&defaultSizeType=Regular

3. Camel. While black will always be in style, try camel as the must have neutral of the season. A lovely camel dress or bag is perfect for a night out on the town. This Ralph Lauren Blanche Came Hair Dress is the easiest way to have elegant, neutral style. $998. http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4242986&cp=1760782.4069587&ab=int_080310_WLP_NEWARRIVALS_SHOPNOW&parentPage=family

Make sure to take these trends into consideration this fall, and you will sure to be the most fashionable person in the room!

Black = Life, Not Death

HI!

For those of you that do know me, you obv. know that I'm obsessed with black clothing. While some unfortunate people may think this means gothic, it most certainly does not in the fashion world.

I personally believe a black t-shirt, blazer, and jeans is the easiest way to have instant style. The absolute best part about black clothing is that the basic nature of the garment can appear designer, when it really is not at all. For example, someone could be wearing either an Armani black tee or a $5 Hanes tee, and no one would know (And yes, I wear both:)

So, for those of you that need to add that splash of non-color to your wardrobe, (this specifically goes to a specific friend that informed me of the lack of black in his wardrobe) run to the nearest Target, Macys, Banana Republic, Gap, etc. to pick up these items:

Women.

1. Black boyfriend blazer.
2. Black cardigan.
3. Black v-neck tee.
4. Black pumps (at least 3 inches).
5. Black tote bag.

Men.

1. Black blazer.
2. Black cardigan.
3. Black tee.
4. Black converse.
5. Black messenger bag.

Interview Dress Part 2: Present yourself with these totes

Hi!

To follow up my previous post about what to wear for that big interview, I decided to present my two favorite interview-ready totes for men and women.

The interview outfit cannot be complete without an amazing, luxurious tote bag to accompany your portfolio and/or resume because let's be honest, you don't want to present yourself or your materials with that Jansport backpack or messenger bag from college.

These two totes are absolutely essential because believe me, the interviewer will take notice:

Women.

The J. Crew Marquee Tote is practical, luxurious looking, and affordable. Show up with this bag, and that job is yours.

Men.

The Cole Haan Portage Flat Tote in either black or brown is essential to show that you are that powerful man with style.

Ladies: You need this dress

Hi!

With the very anticipated launch of Zac Posen for Target, I decided to preview the collection, and pull my absolute favorite piece to share.

This ruffled dress is a must have. It is the absolute definition of affordable chic. Pair it with a cardigan or blazer for work, and then take the outerwear off for a night out on the town.

(It also is the perfect way to channel that inner Carrie Bradshaw for the SATC 2 premiere).

The Zac Posen collection hits stores April 25, so make sure to consider this fantastic dress in either red or navy/black to really evolve that style.

College students: Fashionably step into that big interview

As the dreaded interview process begins for those graduating seniors, not only should resumes and profiles be created but that professional interview wardrobe should as well.

Unfortunately, whether we wish to believe it or not, dress truly is crucial in making that desirable first impression. Therefore, jeans, sneakers, sweatpants, and wrinkled shirts are not acceptable for an interview. Don't even try to wear those items.

Keep these wardrobe essentials in mind as you shop for that perfect outfit.

Women.

Two-buttoned suit. A suit is absolutely essential for any graduate school or job interview. Opt for a timeless, two-buttoned suit in either solid grey or black so it will never go out of style.
Make sure to take the suit to a tailor so it fits correctly because there is nothing worse than looking like you borrowed your friends’ suit.

While suits should be a splurge item so they will last for years, they really do come in a variety or price points to accommodate that graduate budget. Try Banana Republic, J. Crew, and, H & M for suit options.

Solid button-front shirt. A solid, button-front shirt that complements your skin tone, as well as your suit is crucial for an interview.

Make sure the shirt always is pressed, and structured to achieve the most professional look. Stop by Express or Gap for shirt options.

Black pumps. Do not even think about entering an interview in flats; therefore, every woman need s a pair of basic black pumps. Again, choosing something as timeless as possible is smart.

Make sure the heel is not too short, but also not too high. While 5.5 inch Christian Louboutins may be desirable for some people, a pair of 3 inch heels from Nine West also can be perfect for your interview.

Tote bag. A beautiful bag is necessary as you prepare for an interview because you will need something sophisticated to carry that resume and portfolio.

Again, a timeless tote bag should be a splurge item so it will last for years. However, beautiful and affordable bags also can be found at Target, Banana Republic, and Kohls.

Men.

Two-buttoned suit. Just like the women, a two-buttoned, classic suit in black, navy, or grey is necessary for any man. Just make sure the suit is tailored to fit perfectly.

The best part about a suit is you can mix and match it, and pair the blazer with jeans or the pants with a polo for a casual look. Try Banana Republic, Bacrach, or Boston Store for suit options.

White button-front shirt. Every man needs a basic white button-front shirt for a classic, sophisticated look. Again, just make sure it is as crisp as possible, and pair it with your favorite color tie for the interview.

Dress Shoes. Just like the above items, a perfect interview outfit cannot be complete without classic dress shoes. Opt for a more rounded-toe shoe for the classic, timeless look.

Also, make sure your belt always matches your shoes, and your socks match your pants.

Johnston & Murphy, Calvin Klein, and even Target have great dress shoe options.

Keeping the above fashion tips in mind will definitely impress an interviewer as you take that stylish step forward in life.

Spring Accessories for Men

Whether they like to think about it or not, men do need accessories, and believe me, there a few that stick out in my mind that are essential this spring.

1. Plastic Aviators. While it seems as if the classic wayfarers took over the planet last year, it's time to bring out those classic aviators again. Aviators are the absolute best way to give off that effortless, cool style.

2. Camera Bag. Yes, it is alright to have a man bag, especially if you desire that all around put together man look. Wear a cool, suede camera bag on your way to work, or for a casual walk in the park.

3. Boat Shoes, again. Good news, boat shoes are in again. Live your life on a cruise deck with colorful boat shoes this spring. Try them in a different color rather than brown, like red or blue.

*Make sure to keep these items in mind as you step into spring this season with style.

Oscars: My Picks for Best Dressed

Hey-

Let's face it, the Oscars really are just as much about the fashion as they are about celebrating fantastic films. Here are my picks for the top 5 best dressed woman:

1. Sandra Bullock.

Absolutely everything was stunning about Bullock. Her smile, hair, energy, the win:), and obviously the Marchesa gown. The beautiful hand-made embroidery on the bodice literally made her look like an elegant, tall drink of water. L.I.

2. Cameron Diaz.

Thanks to my love, Rachel Zoe, Diaz always looks stunning, and tonight was no exception. I'm pretty sure I hit the floor convulsing with her stunning Oscar de la Renta gown. It was effortless, chic, and classic movie star. Genius.

3. Demi Moore.

Zoe did it again. Moore's Atelier Versace gown screamed effortless glamour, and I'm pretty sure she looks better with age. Love her.

4. Penelope Cruz.

Not only is Cruz's accent insanely gorgeous, but her Donna Karen gown is as well. I especially loved her easy, somewhat messy updo to balance out the dramatics of the gown.

5. Kristen Stewart.

While I've never seen Twilight, Stewart definitely embraced her new found movie star potential in the navy, Monique Lhuillier (one of my favorites) gown. There's nothing I love more than a bare neck, and Stewart rocked that well.

While these woman held my spots for best dressed, there were many others that definitely could have been on the list as well.

Fashion was definetly a success at the Oscars this year!

NYFW

Hey Everyone!

My favorite designer, such as Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren, produced show stopping runway shows at New York's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Feb. 11 through Feb. 18.

To commemorate the last time the shows would be held in the Bryant Park tents, designers made sure to leave the legendary Garment District with a bang showcasing genius collections, and creating desirable must-have trends.

Fall off the runway, and incorporate my top five favorite trends into your everyday style next September:

1. Military Pieces.

It truly is time to join the fashion military. Everyone from Marc Jacobs to Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala's William Rast had fantastic military elements this season. Try a great camo pant, or cool, chic, military-inspired tote as you stroll the city.

2. Velvet.

Velvet accent pieces were seen all over the runway in jackets, dresses, and even sunglasses! While it may not be desirable to have an entire outfit consisting of velvet, make sure to incorporate little pieces of velvet in your wardrobe.

3. Capes and Ponchos.

Beware, the poncho is back. Try channeling your inner Carrie Bradshaw, and place a beautiful, black cape over a cool, embellished tops and black skinny jeans for a fashion night out.

4. Black is Back.

Fortunately, black is here to stay, especially black on black. Designers such as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen for The Row showed amazing black tops, jackets, and pants. Join PR powerhouse, Kelly Cutrone, and try pairing a black v-neck tee, blazer, and skinny jeans for effortless, amazing New York street style.

5. Fur.

Thanks to celebrities such as Rachel Zoe, the fur trend caught on last year, and will continue to be desirable through fall. Opt for jackets adorned with fur, or faux-fur, collars and sleeves to utilize the trend effectively.

Make sure to consider these trends next fall, and stay tuned for more trends from the London and Paris collections.

Step Into Spring.

Hello everyone,

Given the massive snowstorm Wisconsin is supposed to have tomorrow, I deemed it extremely appropriate to write about my top three spring trends. (Just to get ready for when the snow FINALLY decides to cease.)

Step into spring with these must-have trends:

1. Denim everything.
Denim really is making a comeback. Make sure to incorporate denim into your ensemble in other ways besides your jeans. I particularly love Forever 21's Denim Cadet Vest and Banana Republic's Indigo 3/4-Length Trenchcoat (I just saw this in the store and loved it!)

2. Neutral Tones.
Everyone from Donna Karen to Marc Jacobs showed off neutrals this season. Yes, you can still stand out when wearing neutral tones. In fact, if I see you walking down the street in neutral, I will stop and stare even more. Haha. Make sure to checkout Topshop (my favorite store) for greeattt neutral dresses and other pieces.

3. Florals. Of course.
As always, florals for spring are here to stay. You'll be sure to look as sweet and beautiful as a tulip by incorporating standout floral prints into your spring wardrobe. I personally love Gap's Mini-Floral Roll-Up Shirt and Target's Xhilaration Woven Dress

Stay tuned for my top spring trends for men as well!!

The Fashion Military

Hey everyone,

It seems as if military inspired pieces were one of the biggest trends on the NYFW Fall 2010 runways. Everyone from Marc Jacobs to Justin Timberlake and Trace Ayala's William Rast had fantastic military elements.

I can actually remember being in high school and wanting military inspired, camo pants, which is quite a change from my hipster meets preppy style. But, I am 100% willing to try the military look again, especially after viewing the William Rast line. Everything was so wearable. I especially loved how J.T & Co. mixed the rock 'n roll elements with the military pieces. Genius. L.I.

So, gear up, it's time for all of us to embrace the trend, and join the fashion military.

Visit gq.com to view the entire Marc Jacobs and William Rast collections.

Stay tuned for more of my favorite trends from NYFW.

The New Olsen Twins

Alright, I'm going to be honest...I've basically loved the Olsen twins since I was born, ever since Full House.

While they are credited to many acting gigs along the way, I strongly believe their fashion and sense of style has made them who they are today-fashion moguls.

Today marked the day of the twins' presentation of The Row furing NYFW, and I must say, after looking at the photos, I was very impressed. Probably because I'm obsessed with black, and there was almost no color in the entire collection:)

I can't wait to see what these twins do next!!

NYFW

HI!!!

I D.I.E. for Diane von Furstenberg! I literally loved everything about her new collection, probably because I think menswear on women is so sexy. Everything from Diane's tailored jackets to the use of metallics made me want to give the queen of American fashion a standing ovation!

Hurry to style.com to view a slideshow of the collection. You won't want to miss it:)

Valentine's Day

Hi!

Well, it's almost Valentine's Day (Or singles awareness day;) What are your plans with that special plans? More importantly, what do you plan to wear on the date with that special someone??

Here are my top picks for the best outfits to wear on that Valentine's Day date:

Restaurant
1. If you're going to a fancier restaurant, make sure to pull out that little black dress you've been saving for something special. Make sure to pair it with your favorite heels, and a great clutch. If you're in search of that little black dress, I love Banana Republic's Sweetheart Dress, which has a casual, but chic stretch fabric, and will withstand the test of time. The best part, it's only $150!

Movie
2. If a movie is more your thing, I love love a great cardigan, v-neck tee, and statement necklace or headband. Head to my favorite, affordable, store Topshop for cool, unique cardigans. Pair this outfit with a dark-wash, straight-leg jean, tote bag, and those Tory Burch flats and you're ready to go.

Home
3. If staying home for a romantic evening is more your style, and you're about to enjoy a cute picnic and a movie, opt for your most comfortable pair of jeans, and a cool vintage t-shirt to possess extreme comfort, but also great style. I personally love Gap's cuffed boyfriend T in purple or black, which retails for $19.50.

Make sure to take these little style tips into consideration as you plan out your fun, but romantic Valentine's Day evening.

P.S. I'm seeing the movie, Valentine's Day tonight, which includes a ton (literally) of style icons. I'll be sure to post my picks of the best dressed.

Boots, Boots, and more Boots

Hello,

So I decided to write this quick entry for the simple fact that there is literally a blizzard in Wisconsin. As a result, fashionable, but functional boots are an essential. Here are my picks for the best boots for women and men.

Women

UGG.
UGG's seem to be a staple for many women because they are comfortable, warm, and seen on many celebrity favorites. Try the classic long or short boot in black or chestnut. However, if you're really going to trek through the snow, opt for the Dauphine style for something that is stylish, but water-proof.

Target.
One does not have to travel far to find exquisite, affordable boots. Just stop by the local Target to view the extensive boot collection. I personally recommend the Adi Designs Faux Fur Microsuede Boots because they are warm, and lined with my FAVORITE detail, fur:) Try them in grey so they go with absolutely everything.

Luxury.
If you're willing to splurge, opt for Burberry's Quilted Boot, or a Chanel Ski Boot. You will be sure to turn some heads, even among a blizzard.

Men

Born.
My absolute favorite men's boot (and the one that gets me through the dreaded snow) is Born's Hemlock Boot in black. This waterproof, yet edgy boot keeps my feet dry, and looks great with my black skinny jeans. Genius.

UGG.
Yes, guys, UGG does make men's boots, and they are just as cozy and practical as the women's boots. While you could try the classic boot like the ladies, I am obsessed with the Hartsville collection. These boots are waterproof, and come with two different insoles so you can choose if you are in the mood for leather, or soft, sheepskin. This style also comes in extended sizes for those larger feet.

The North Face.
If you're looking for a great boot to match that North Face jacket, try the McMurdo boot in black or brown. These boots are extremely durable, and perfect for a trek through the snow.

*For more boot advice, feel free to comment, and leave a question:)
